Historic buildings with architectural character, high ceilings, large floor plans and low rental rates make the Junction an attractive business location.

Over the past few decades, interest in the Junction has been rekindled. New businesses have moved into the neighbourhood and with the help of the City of Toronto's Commercial Facade Program, existing businesses have been given a face lift.

In 1998, the West Toronto Junction Team was formed and with the support of government, local businesses and residents has been making strides to stimulate economic growth, beautify the neighbourhood and restore a sense of community.

Artisans of all types call the Junction home.

Here's what we have accomplished to date:

  • Established community office with support services, meeting space, and database.
  • Attracted millions of dollars in new investment in the Junction including Toronto Hydro's 3-year project to underground overhead wires.
  • Successful deputation to the Toronto City Council to approve budget for a complete sidewalk replacement and customized streetscape design.
  • Initiated parking and traffic study to improve parking, traffic patterns, and transit service.
  • Created the Strategic Planning Report to guide the Junction into the future.
  • Piloted the Junction Newsletter (distributed to 20,000 households) keeping community members aware and involved.
